Over time, we found ourselves drawn to indigo dye, botanical printing, and hand embroidery — techniques that transform simple fabrics into something deeply expressive. What starts as plain cloth becomes unique through time, process, and the touch of the maker.

Today, our focus is on handcrafted scarves and textile accessories, where natural dye and traditional techniques come together in everyday pieces.

Natural Dye Traditions

Many of our scarves and textiles are dyed using plant-based colors. Indigo, one of our most recognizable tones, comes from traditional indigo plants used for generations. Other colors may come from natural sources such as sappanwood for warm reds, gardenia for soft yellows, safflower for gentle pinks, and even experimental materials like black beans for subtle gray tones or persimmon dye for earthy browns.

Some pieces also feature botanical printing, where real leaves, flowers, and plant materials are carefully arranged on fabric to create natural imprints. Each print reflects the unique shapes and textures of the plants, making every piece truly one of a kind.

Because these processes are done slowly and by hand, each piece develops its own variations in color and pattern. No two pieces are ever exactly the same.

Embroidery Craft

Embroidery is another craft that we care deeply about. Some items in our collection are created using vintage embroidered textiles that our studio carefully collects from different regions. These older embroidery pieces are cleaned, restored, and thoughtfully transformed into new designs such as bags, hair accessories, or decorative details on garments like denim jackets. In this way, traditional craftsmanship continues to live on in everyday objects.

Our Approach

We focus on small-batch handmade production rather than mass manufacturing. Every dye, stitch, and texture reflects time, patience, and human touch.

At Sylra Studio, we simply hope to share textiles that feel natural, personal, and quietly unique.

Whenever possible, we choose recyclable or biodegradable packaging as a small step toward reducing our environmental impact.
